Manufacturing floor operations

OPERATIONS ADVISORY — JOHOR BAHRU, MY

Operations work worth reading about.

We spend time on your floor, sit with your supervisors, and return with a written review that reflects what we actually found — not a template dressed for your industry.

WORK ORDER CATALOGUE

Three engagements.
Each with a clear scope.

Manufacturing Operations Engagement

ORDER REF: EC-001

Manufacturing Operations Engagement

Eight to ten weeks on the floor, alongside your line supervisors. We prepare a written review covering throughput rhythms, changeover practice, scrap patterns, and housekeeping disciplines — what works, and where refinement is worth the effort.

  • Written operations review
  • Job-by-job notes sheet
  • Four working sessions with ops leads
RM 3,200 Enquire
Lead Time Inquiry

ORDER REF: EC-002

Lead Time Inquiry

A focused look at a single concern: where the days go between order receipt and delivery. We map the full path, identify where time accumulates without value, and prepare a note with three or four practical adjustments.

  • End-to-end path mapping
  • Measured note with refinements
  • Six-week engagement
RM 2,750 Enquire
Floor Note

ORDER REF: EC-003

Floor Note

A short written response to a single operational question — whether a bottleneck warrants capital investment, or how to approach staffing for a seasonal peak. Roughly fifteen hundred words, delivered within two weeks.

  • ~1,500 word written response
  • One follow-up call included
  • Delivered within two weeks
RM 820 Enquire

WHY IT MATTERS

What steady advisory actually delivers.

Written deliverables you keep

Every engagement ends with a document your team can reference six months later — not a slide deck that fades after the meeting.

Floor-level observation

We observe what is actually happening, not what the system reports. That gap is often where the useful findings live.

Proportional scope

Three engagements at different scales — so the work fits the question rather than the question being shaped to fit a fixed retainer.

Direct access to the consultant

You speak with the person doing the work, not an account manager passing notes between floors.

Refinement over overhaul

The aim is not to rebuild what you have. The aim is to find where modest, considered changes would improve what already works.

Clear next steps

Each written output ends with a short list of candidates for action — ordered by effort and likely impact, not by what looks most dramatic.

FLOOR NOTE / FULL ENGAGEMENT

Have a question worth writing down?

Whether you need a short written answer or a longer floor engagement, the conversation begins the same way — with the question you are already carrying.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What people ask before getting started.

What kinds of businesses do you typically work with?
Small and mid-sized manufacturers — typically between 20 and 200 people on the floor. The work fits best where there is a plant manager or operations director who has direct knowledge of day-to-day conditions and wants an outside perspective that is honest rather than promotional.
Do I need to commit to a full engagement to start?
No. The Floor Note exists for exactly that reason — a single written response to a specific question, completed in two weeks. Many clients begin there and decide whether a longer engagement is appropriate based on how that note reads.
What does the written review actually look like?
It is a structured document — sections on what we observed, what the data suggests, and where the better candidates for adjustment lie. It reads more like a technical report than a consulting deck. You can share it with your team and annotate it. It is yours to keep.
How long does the Operations Engagement take?
Eight to ten weeks from the first floor visit to delivery of the written review. The four working sessions with operations leads are spaced across that period. There is no pressure to compress the timeline — good observation takes the time it takes.
Will you recommend equipment purchases or capital investments?
Only when the evidence suggests it is the better path compared to process redesign. In our experience, the majority of throughput and lead time issues are addressable through changes in practice rather than capital — but we will say clearly when investment seems warranted.
How are the fees structured?
Fixed-fee per engagement — RM 820 for a Floor Note, RM 2,750 for a Lead Time Inquiry, and RM 3,200 for the full Manufacturing Operations Engagement. No variable billing, no hourly overruns. What is quoted is what is invoiced.
